Napa valley

On Saturday, we checked out of our hotel in Sacramento and headed over to the Napa valley. This giant statue greets you as you drive in... Pressing grapes?

One of the interns in our group, Kylee, is from Sonoma, which is right next to Napa, and her parents were nice enough to have us over for lunch! It was so so good and we were happy to have a good home-cooked meal.

We were going to go to the little town square, and Kylee's dad suggested we take their bikes. Um. Really? Everything suddenly becomes 100 times more fun and exciting when you're on bikes
Just a little vineyard photo shoot....
We asked this lady to take our picture... took here a little bit to figure it out, but she eventually got it!

I just love riding bikes so much! Granted, it wasn't quite the magical experience that I had last summer in France, but still. Can't complain.
This picture makes us all bust up because it's totally not posed like that at all. There were really people riding their bikes past us, and Dustin was actually waving at them. And I'm just smiling for the camera, as always.
Brenna and Kylee got the tandem.
On the way back, we stopped and chatted with an Irish couple who was also out bike riding, and then a little bit farther down the road, we ran into this lady who was trying to coerce some baby quails out from under her car. She elicited our help, and it was hilarious to see all these random people trying to get these baby quail up the curb.

Photobombed!

Overall, it really doesn't get any better than bikes and fields. If only we could've fit in some wine tasting while we there... next time.
