Best. Ice cream. Ever.

So, on my mission, I once did an exchange with Soeur Cummins'
tahitian companion, and Soeur Cummins told me afterwards that her comp told her and she had been shocked to see me without my makeup on because I looked like a completely different person. Yes, I do. Haha. But fortunately, I no longer have to worry about anyone
on this trip seeing me like that because they all already did, this morning. I woke up to the phone ringing at nine o clock and my roommate saying, "Mindy, they
didn't call us to wake us up (the front desk people who we asked to last night), and the bus is here!" So fun. So we threw our clothes on, brushed our teeth, and ran out the door. Put our makeup on on the bus. So much fun. NOT! We are having like three people call us in the morning from now on to wake us up, because we really don't want that to happen again.

This morning we had a class about African literature which was so great. The guy really knew his stuff and he was so funny also. He and our director kept like arguing about if they had enough time to talk about this or that subject, it was so funny.

After that we had lunch, and then we went to le Musée de Dakar and had a tour guide show us all around. It was very cool, and much more interesting than yesterday (sorry, tour guide from yesterday). Voici some photos:

On the way home, we passed by the Cathedral and it was open, so we went inside and took some pictures:
This is the ceiling, and our director told us that Christ is painted as being black... I couldn't really tell.

Who doesn't love these guys?
Dinner... mmmm. So Chelsey and I went out to buy an alarm clock, but arrived at Casino as it was closing, bummer. This kid that we met yesterday was waiting outside (while others from our group were inside, without us knowing it!), and it was getting kind of dark and we were hungry, so we were like... uhh... and we had talked about going to this one place earlier, but hadn't ended up going there. So we asked the kid if he could lead us there, because it's like on the other side of town, and he did, and the whole way we were just praying that other people would be there from the group to help us find our way home. We get there, and there's no one. We of course are going to eat anyways, and this guy told us that there's a place to eat upstairs too, so we go up ("while I'm saying please, please, the whole way up), and there was everyone! We were SO happy :) Come to find out, the exact same thing happened to Chloe and Emily too, who'd gone out alone and ended up at Chicken Caesar's with the rest of us. Someone must be watching out for us!
This is basically the African "American" that they had in New Cal... haha. It was good :)

In front of Caesar's with the group that we miraculously found there :) Afterwards we went to this patisserie and had THE BEST ice cream I've ever had in my life. We're going back every day from now until when we leave, seriously. We decided we're going to do a girl's night there.

Mmm. Ice cream. When you get back we'll have to go to Menchie's, a new frozen yogurt place. It's great too. And I'm seriously wearing the same shirt as you as we "speak!"
